Description

They're perfectly normal, I swear. o:
My uh... Pokemon trainer's team. cB

Same bios as the trainer card submission below. o~o

Name: Ferris
Species: Gardevoir
Gender: Male
Move Set: Wish, Facade, Psychic, Energy Ball
Ferris' original trainer was Adrian's mother, Edith. He was supposed to be a pageant star, but this Gardevoir, then a Kirlia, wanted nothing to do with it. Adrian befriended the Pokemon and discovered that he was quite intelligent. They quickly became friends and, when Adrian declared himself a Pokemon trainer, Ferris was the first one to join his team. Adrian tries to avoid favoritism among his party members, but, really, they have matching glasses. Ferris is fluent in the human language, speaking to them through thoughts. He can be somewhat arrogant or selfish about this at times, however, and will not communicate with just anyone.

Name: Isis
Species: Dragonair
Gender: Male
Move Set: Twister, Dragon Pulse, Waterfall, Thunder
Adrian's second Pokemon: a shiny Dragonair. He was given to Adrian as a Dratini. Because of the young teenager's naievety, he immediately assumed the small, rose-colored serpent was female. This irritated Isis to no end and, so, he tested himself to learn human tongue. It took a very long time, but he was eventually able to comprehend and repeat the language. The dainty, song-like quality of his voice was a disappointment, but it would have to do. His first order of business was to correct his mistaken trainer properly. After this breakthrough, Isis became increasingly vain and lazy. It is worth noting that this Dragonair refuses to evolve on the basis that "a Dragonite is nowhere near as elegant and beautiful as a Dragonair."

Name: Erk
Species: Sableye
Gender: Male
Move Set: Shadow Ball, Shadow Claw, Toxic, Dig
Erk came to be on the team in a rather unconventional way. Adrian and his party of two had gone for a brief stay in Dewford town before moving on to the next major hub. Without much to do on such a small island, he decided to go exploring in the caves just north of town. He was observing a colony of Zubat when a lone Sableye snuck up behind him. Adrian had never been a huge fan of ghost types and those huge, gem-like eyes just gave him the shivers... But try as he might, he was never able to convince Erk to leave him alone. The Sableye followed him onto the boat and all over creation. For a while, Adrian refused to catch the Pokemon, but it became apparent that Erk was not leaving. So one day, without fuss or fight, Adrian gave up and caught him. Note that Erk has very simple speech capabilities.

Name: Norton
Species: Omanyte
Gender: Male
Move Set: Brine, Toxic, Frustration, Rain Dance
Norton is a friendly-looking cephalopod Adrian found while studying sea life off the coast of Rustboro. (Possibly an escapee of the Devon Corporation's fossil reanimation laboratories.) As a wild Omanyte, Norton displayed impressive tactical maneouvers, nearly escaping capture more than once. However, being that Norton was physically small and nowhere near as powerful as the rest of Adrian's team, he was eventually coerced into a Pokeball. Little does Adrian know that Norton is the true genius of the party. Each time a battle rolls around, the little Omanyte devises master plans that could put the elite to shame... However, no one can understand a WORD of Norton's ancient Pokemon speak! No one except for Ferris, but he's not talking...

Name: Fifer
Species: Noctowl
Gender: Female
Move Set: Protect, Take Down, Captivate, Air Slash
It was broad daylight when Adrian happened upon Fifer, just on the outskirts of Fortree City. He was intrigued by the odd bird and couldn't resist approaching her. She seemed interested in return, letting Adrian get close enough to stroke her feathers- if he hadn't been too afraid to try it. Then, suddenly, she launched into battle. The Noctowl was surprisingly easy to capture; she was too busy showing off and playing around to really notice or care. Fifer is a quirky bird, rarely taking anything seriously. And, yet, through what can only be described as sheer luck, she is often proclaimed the victor of battles. She's friendly and curious; generally easy to handle. Adrian is convinced that she a descendant of Psyduck.

Name: Quin
Species: Quilava
Gender: Male
Move Set: Lava Plume, Will-O-Wisp, Substitute, Fire Blast
Quin is a far cry from your average, aggressive Quilava. He's just about the sweetest Pokemon in the world and Adrian absolutely adores him... But, among the rest of the team, he's actually a bit of an outcast. He's tried to befriend Norton, who he percieves as a potental partner in being ignored, but even Quin can't understand the Omanyte, try as he might. Ferris occasionally offers advice on being more energetic, but Quin is too shy. He tries to avoid breathing Isis' air, as the Dragonair is far too grand for his meager presence. Erk, quite frankly, is frightening and interested in very little except Adrian and gems. And Fifer... well, her attention span is just too short! It's a frustrating life, but curling up warmly in his trainer's lap is what makes it all worth it.

► Trainer
:bulletred: Adrian Lyre [Nominal Human Figurehead]
Gender: Male | Age: 20 Years | Height: 5'5"
Adrian was born in Lilycove city, Pokémon contest capital of Hoenn. His mother, Rua, has always been a career Pokémon contestant. Not long after Adrian’s birth, his father disappeared; this loss drove his mother further into the world of contests. Adrian was exposed to them from a very early age, but despite his mother’s enthusiasm, he wasn’t interested in the shows themselves. Backstage, he amused himself with studying the Pokémon themselves.
At heart, Adrian is more interested in biology than battles. It was his first Pokémon, Ferris, who cajoled him into becoming a trainer. It is also Ferris who orchestrates most of Adrian’s travels and goals.

► Pokémon Lineup
:bulletred: Ferris [Male Gardevoir]
Preferred Moves: Psychic | Facade | Will-o-Wisp | Calm Mind
Held Item: Wise Glasses | Ability: Synchronize
Gardevoir are known as the “Embrace Pokémon.” They are renowned for their high capacity for empathy and sacrificing themselves in dire situations. Gardevoir are gentle, elegant, and serene.
Ferris is not those things. He is the opposite of those things. Ruthless in battle and a sharp tactician, Ferris is a downright scary opponent. He tends to push the rules of the game to their limits. As megalomaniacs usually are, Ferris is at his weakest when he is most confident that he has won.
Ferris was Adrian’s first Pokémon. Adrian’s mother, Rua, wanted a Kirlia to enter into Pokémon contests. While Ferris enjoys showy displays during battle, he has utter disdain for contests. Thus, he was given to Adrian.

:bulletred: Idris [Male Dragonair]
Preferred Moves: Twister | Dragon Rush | Thunder | Outrage
Held Item: None | Ability: Shed Skin
Idris was a gift from Adrian’s mother. The foolish young trainer assumed the shiny pink Pokémon was female. The Dratini proceeded to spend countless nights practicing human sounds and language so that he could eloquently express his displeasure, as opposed to biting his trainer’s face off. Idris is impressively narcissistic. He currently refuses to evolve on the basis that Dragonites are “unsightly,” sacrificing brute strength for appearance.
Alone, Idris is usually impatient in battles. In general, his strategy is to hit hard and end the match quickly. He’s a tank, but not as bright as he would have others believe. This leaves him strategically vulnerable.

:bulletred: Erk [Male Sableye]
Preferred Moves: Confuse Ray | Shadow Sneak | Shadow Claw | Torment
Held Item: Quick Claw | Ability: Keen Eye
There is no way around it: Erk is weird. He first approached Adrian while the boy was studying a colony of Zubats, then proceeded to stalk him for weeks. He offered gifts of rocks, gemstones, and clumps of dirt until Adrian had little choice but to capture him. Adrian has attempted multiple times to release Erk, but the Pokémon always seems to find him again.
In battle, Erk is fond of stealth. He also really likes to creep the other Pokémon out. As signature of ghost types, Erk is mischievous and views battle as a game or joke. Sometimes, his success on the field suffers from this perspective.

:bulletred: Lucya [Female Deerling]
Preferred Moves: Double Team | Substitute | Wild Charge | Energy Ball
Held Item: None | Ability: Chlorophyll
There was a huge scandal involving a band of poachers laying traps in a Unova sanctuary. Lucya was found entangled and injured in one of the snares. Adrian, who was volunteering with the sanctuary at the time, was personally involved in her rehabilitation. After the incident, Lucya was deemed too tame to be returned to the wild, so Adrian captured her.
Lucya is more adept in battle than she looks. Her skill set focuses on evasion, defense, and agility. She fares better in shorter battles than those that are drawn out.
